Privacy Policy

This policy explains what PuriPep LLC (“PuriPep”, “we”, “us”), Carlsbad, California, collects when you use puripep.com, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. Questions go to hello@puripep.com.

What we collect

Account data. Email address, first and last name, and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
Order data. Items ordered, amounts, order and invoice numbers, shipping address, phone number where provided, tracking references, and support correspondence.
Payment data. Card details are entered on our payment provider’s hosted checkout and are never stored on our systems. We receive only a transaction reference and the outcome.
Marketing data. The email address you give to the newsletter or welcome-offer form, plus whether you opened or clicked our emails and whether you have unsubscribed.
Technical data. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the referring website that sent you to us. We use the referrer to understand which channels bring researchers to the catalog.

Why we use it

To take, ship, invoice and support your orders (contract performance).
To run accounts, including the price gate that reserves pricing for signed-in research accounts.
To send transactional email — order confirmation, dispatch and tracking, password resets. These are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while an order is live.
To send new-lot, restock and CoA-update emails where you asked for them (consent).
To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations (legitimate interests / legal obligation).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage entries:

Strictly necessary. Your cart contents, your signed-in session token, and the flag that stops the welcome offer reappearing on every page. The site does not work without these.
Attribution. A single cookie recording the website that referred your first visit, kept for 30 days, so we can attribute an order to a channel. It contains no identifier we can link back to you before you order.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking the necessary ones will break the cart and sign-in.

Emails and how to stop them

Marketing emails carry an unsubscribe link in every message, and unsubscribing takes effect on all marketing sequences at once. You can also email hello@puripep.com and we will remove you. Transactional emails about an order you placed continue until that order is complete.

Who we share data with

Only with service providers who need it to do their job for us, under contract, and only for that purpose: our payment provider, our shipping and fulfilment platform and the carriers who deliver your parcel, our email delivery provider, and our hosting and infrastructure providers. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

How long we keep it

Order, invoice and tax records: seven years, as required for U.S. financial record-keeping. Account data: for as long as your account is open, plus a short wind-down period after closure. Marketing data: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a minimal suppression record so we do not email you again. Technical logs: typically 12 months.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored hashed, and access to order and customer data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfect; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended — you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to obtain a copy in a portable format, to opt out of marketing, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

To exercise any right, email hello@puripep.com from the address on your account. We respond within 45 days and may need to verify your identity first. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission.

Children

This site is for professional research buyers. It is not directed at anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors

We ship within the United States only and our systems are operated in the United States. If you browse from elsewhere, your data will be processed in the U.S.

Changes

We may update this policy; the current version is always the one published here, with the date at the top. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders.
